Minke Whale (diving up) Sculpture - Limited Edition of 10

Our smallest baleen whale is similar in shape to the fin whale, but only about one third as long. This whale is mounted in an up-diving position. The coloration with its characteristic white underside and white stripes on the fins (called 'mittens' among cetologists) is a blend of traditional and modern, non-toxic patina. I enjoy the naturalistic representation with all characteristic details typical for each species, allowing the use of my whales in scientific education, nature centers, and as art for the visual impaired. The stone base is a natural beach rock, representative of the ocean cliffs near which these whales find their food in the rich upstream where cold and warm waters mix. The base is not counted in the above size specifications, and can be changed / customized at the wish of the customer. Like all other whales in my collection, this whale is created in a scale of 1:40 (1" = 40" or 3.33 ft.)
