Koster lives on an island in the Netherlands. To document sea waves she swims in the water With a Gopro Camera to use as interpretation to build concrete sculptures of seawaves. The sculptures of the seawaves feature hints of rococo, impressionism and air a scent of very rough classiness. Charlotte Koster works both smaller size but mostly also big size waves. In a sculpture park on the Danish coast you can sea a 2 meter 10 high northsea wave in concrete. The sculptures are mostly made without tools...clearly visible are the strokes of the hands and fingers....which in the ouvre of Koster is very interesting as she often gets hired international to make figurative art for which she uses and even makes tools. The wavessculptures are build intuitively together with the material and the documentation of seawaves. And maybe the sculptures are a celebration for her return to the island where she grew up after living on other islands and in other countries.
