Juxtaposing traditional approaches to painting with unique materials, Robausch uses industrial synthetic wax, marble dust, oil paint, plastic and wood as part of his painting process, casting and embossing his chosen shapes and forms before painting in them. In the process of cooling down, the fluid artwork changes to a heavy and very solid structure with a cracked, fragile impression. Robausch describes his work as “At 260 degrees Celsius it is a diaphanous painting, after cooling down it is a diaphanous sculpture. And the powerful act of this morphogenesis is recorded in cracks, ridges and craters. This transformation from hot liquid to cold, solid matter emanates a special presence." ▪ 49 H x 49 W x 5 cm, 4.5 kg ▪ 19.5 H x 19.5 W x 2 in, 10 lb ▪ Unique combination of oil paint, marble dust, synthetic wax, plastic and wood ▪ Traces of the cooling process from +260° Celsius down to -20° Celsius : ridges, craters and cracks ▪ It has wax-like characteristics but is very hard and scratch resistant and not affected by sun and high room temperatures ▪ The surface with its ridges, craters and cracks looks different depending on the light and the angle of view. ▪ This work comes signed by the artist on lower left of recto and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. ▪ Will be shipped in a protective crate ▪ Easy to hang

Robausch's wall-objects and freestanding sculptures are built with manually formed aluminum. Every single step in the creative process are made by hand which gives his artworks timeless depth and a unique appeal. Most of his sculptures have a lightweight, stable supporting core enclosed by an aluminum shell. The aluminum surface of his new artworks is painted with iron pigments and is encouraged to rust. Robausch stands outside of the traditional art business. He prefers to explore how to transform the energy and mood of his physical artworks into short digital animations. His specially developed scripts unlock open spaces and times for his art.
