About The Artwork

From garbage, discarded wood becomes sculptures that represent the importance of preserving nature and the resistance of indigenous peoples; an alert about . This is the concept of the pieces created by Zago, the multi-artist from Goiás, Brazil. The shapes refer to the disconnection of man with nature, which does not see itself as part of the environment. The colors of the works yellow, orange, red and black allude to the fires, one of the problems we are experiencing, especially in the North and Midwest. Green represents the strength and permanence of living vegetation. The names of the sculptures are references to the great indigenous people of Brazil, who are the guardian peoples of the forests. The creation process is a montage of disconnects. This piece alludes to a Brazilian indigenous people called Pitaguary, residing in the Pitaguary Indigenous Land, located in the municipality of Maracanaú and Pacatuba, State of Ceará, which today has a population of about 2000,000 people distributed among 537 families. Its main source of subsistence agriculture, fishing, fruit gathering and handicrafts.
