Raissa Sculpture

From my perspectives Each of us grasps the world as best we can, from wherever we are. Drawing is a means of observation, a tool for understanding. It is one of the many ways of seeing and thinking. It seems to me that down through the ages the questions have remained the same. Perhaps it is the way of formulating them that changes. Drawing is an autonomous language, probably the simplest expression of art. I like its economy of means, which allows me to create something anywhere, at any time, with next to nothing. Ours is the era of new media, multiplying sources of information, overproduction and the dematerialisation of images. So why still draw on paper? And how to incorporate these new technologies into the classic age-old gesture of drawing a simple line by hand? I would like to draw slowness, to overexpose landscapes, to preserve the luminosity of the paper, to never finish a drawing so it is never completed. This summerthe Curiosity roverlandedon Mars after a journey of more than eight months covering 567 million kilometres. For its first drive on the planet's surface, the rover moved four and a half metres forwards, rotated 120° to the right, then backed up a few metres. Perhaps to leave its mark in the dust.
