ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A play on a perfectly round hole which began life as a flat slab of ash wood. All my works are self evident and self explanatory. My aim is always to create pieces which work in the round. I believe in working in a state of play and the identity of the piece emerges out of that process. I learn about the pieces as I live with them.

I have a life-time involvement with sculpture. I started with 3 years studying life-modelling. Worked as assistant to Henry Moore (1961-62). Taught sculpture at Sunderland and Norwich Art Schools. Then went self-employed designing and making furniture. Stopped teaching 1980. Now enjoying retirement, making sculpture in a state of play.
