Inspired by my son,'resist the machine' is a 3D sketch of sorts,made from a drill grinding jig and english oak.Resist the impossible.A comment on current affair in America,Drugs greed and violence,all bundled up with a dollop of humour. A unique piece made in Spelsbury Oxfordshire by hand from reclaimed timber and found objects.

George Lewis born in Holland in 1972, is an artist working from Spelsbury, Oxfordshire. My subject matter comes from current affairs,media,online social media and Facebook. The form comes mainly from cartoons and comics as well as other artists influence.I have always used reclaimed materials gathered along the way from back gardens to Blenheim Palace estate. The source of the timber and the type of timber have a significance to the piece of work.I also use metals and plastics reclaimed where possible. I want my work to be accessible,and uncomplicated in its initial viewing,and sometimes funny. I hope you enjoy it.
