Right Whale (feeding) Sculpture - Limited Edition of 10

The Northern Right Whale is at the brink of extinction with only about 350 individuals left. They are slow-moving, gentle creatures, and the most sought-after species for the early whalers. When I was so extremely lucky to see a mother and calf in the vicinity of Cape Cod, I had tears in my eyes. My sculpture is a naturalistic representation with all the morphological and color characteristics of the species, and in the same scale as my other whales in the collection (1:40) - so that their size differences can be compared when displayed next to each other. The naturalistic patination is achieved with traditional and modern patina. Not only are these whales beautiful in an art collection, but they can also serve as scientific models for nature centers and can be helpful for visually impaired persons to explore the awesome wildlife of the Atlantic ocean.
