Ritual Sculpture

Its a magic altar, with totems and sacrifices, but in miniature. Countless details and elements went into making this piece. Stone flakes, Hand dyed moss, Carefully cleaned snake vertebra, painted seeds, and tarantula fangs to name a few. One of the challenges was finding such interesting items, that are all ethically sourced (no animals were killed for my art). I wanted everything to look like it could be found on a magic altar in forest. Another challenge with this piece was photographing it. There is lots of tiny, curved reflective parts that distorted the light. This sculpture is 3 parts: the actual art, the glass dome display, and the black base. "The Ritual" was a very fun project to build, and I'm excited to share it.
