About The Artwork
This little assemblage is an exploration of contrasting materials and marks. Despite the dark palette, it expresses a spirit of fun through pops of pink, dots, marks and organic shapes. The layers of painted wood, fabric, stitching, paper, mylar and transparent pvc plastic overlap playfully. For this assemblage I was inspired by the amazing black rocks on the beach at Sagres, on the western coast of Portugal.

I live and work in lovely Weehawken, NJ, a small town on the Hudson River. A lifelong artist, I studied at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and Rome, Italy. Inspired by nature, landscapes and erosion, I love organic shapes. I work intuitively and experimentally, driven by composition, color, and texture. My experiences in textile design and printmaking inform my process, showing up in the pattern, layering and composition of the work.
