Stalwart Sculpture

Many of my abstract figurative works are inspired by the linear quality of abstract sculptures by Ryoichi Suzuki who I studied under as well as artist Myles Howell. Their work is abstract and I loved the line quality they use in their forms so I have taken the elements of that line quality and applied it to the abstracted figure. The figure is the most interesting subject matter in my opinion and all of my artworks reference the figure. Some of my stone sculptures are more abstracted and some are more representational but all of them are based on human figure and gesture. This particular sculpture is an abstracted male torso given a geometric flowing line work where the planes meet.
