About The Artwork
This object has a surprising effect. Barbie dolls painted anthracite and gold, with short hair and closely connected in a ritual circle. Female power, dark beauties, colorful fabrics. This circle with the rays pointing outwards is also reminiscent - in a very alienated way - of a holy monstrance as we know it from churches. The figures are mounted alternately on a round wooden frame, facing both sides. This object can hang freely in the room so that it is visible from both sides. But of course it can also be placed on a wall. This object received much attention in my exhibition MOVING SILENCE 2023 at the MarahArt gallery.
