THE DOOR TO EVOLUTION Sculpture

Despite advancing technologies and a better understanding of the world around us our species hasn’t seemed to evolved much away from self centered greed and a hunger for power. In fact we seem even more destructive with the new technologies. This piece is constructed from an old metal door. The attached layers of objects symbolize the development of mankind, from the pyramids, to the industrial age, to the cyber age. Just below the circle is the murky area which symbolizes the time we are currently in. This is a time of confusion, disinformation, destruction, and division on many levels. Floating above this murky plane is a circle symbolizing unity, wholeness and oneness. The question is, will the planet look more like mars if and when we finally get there.
