About The Artwork
Terracotta marbled with grey clay: Rolled, draped, set and sprayed in matte white paint. Inspired by the winter canyons of Utah, namely Bryce and Zion. Upon visiting in late December the crisp white snow contrasts perfectly with the deep red terracotta terrain adding a softness to the rugged landscape. The clay has an almost fabric like, delicate quality which juxtaposes with the rugged landscape depicted: Nature is grand and awe-inspiring but also vulnerable, fragile and warrants protecting.
