About The Artwork
I have been inspired by the Banyan tree because I have seen it sheltering people on the streets of India. I have created the sculpture to look like the roots of the tree as well as human figures. The strong roots are to express a feeling of strength, to hold life together, but the endless growth of life and suffering with in human life also lies within the suffering of nature.
