The face of wisdom Sculpture

The old bushman sits in silence, listening to the echoes of Time. They move through his heart, rumbling deep in his veins…spectral voices singing, crying, calling across the ages. Rays of memory pierce his cobwebbed eyes, illuminating a haze of faces and distant lands. Pride wells up from Within…he has seen ancient trees crumble, and met the newborn smiles of elders…yet strong he remains. Around his neck hang goat horns, impelling vitality into his body; and by wearing his tortoiseshell crown, neither pain nor disease dare touch his might. Only long-serving chiefs of purest heart are bestowed this crown by the wiseman council. Yes, this leader is pure and blessed…he must be, for the future of an ancient race blooms from him. The children playing among the sands must drink of his depths, learning the mysteries of love, sorrow, the hunt, and the desert’s medicine. All he knows will pass to these young ones, and through it, his Spirit will forever breathe upon their Paths. Blessed will they be, sitting wide-eyed before Infinity, beholding the face of Wisdom.
