‘Daria aka The Knitter’ This piece was inspired by a Ukrainian woman, Daria, and a conversation about rebuilding. This one is for those who build the world around them. It comes from creating community, warmth, family out from within, channeling strength and resources, out of necessity, loss and change. The knitter is making a blanket of her own hair… refuge out of nothing.This is for the pillars; refugees, survivors, shakers, those who start over with their wits and their hearts, channeling deep to create new lives.Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria, Ethiopia, and so many more…This one is named after one such person and a conversation we had about all of the above.Daria.
