The Lost Fig Sculpture

The Lost Fig Ceramic Stoneware Copper glazes 2016 Planted in the 1860’s the Moreton Bay Figs native to Eastern Australia have lined what was then known as Randwick Road in Sydney. These trees are being felled to give way to the demands of rapid urbanization. This work is my emotional response to the felling of a lifeline, introspecting on the choices man has made throughout history. A student of Ceramic art, I'm fascinated by the serendipitous relationship between the artist and the process of making. The final results are always achieved in excited anticipation.
