About The Artwork
“Transarcheology” is a series of art objects blending biological structures and traditional sculpture. This is a compound term from Latin words ‘trans’ (across) and ’archaeologia’ (the analysis of artefacts and physical remains). This work explores the transformation of natural phenomena into artificial. “Nervus”, the bloodied heart is a metaphorical bio engine – Perpetuum mobile, that has stopped. The heartshaped tree trunk was emphasized with paint, to show the structure of veins and muscles.
