About The Artwork
After a whole year traveling through Peru, I brought back home these Chancay dolls. They are pre-Columbian dolls, made of cane or fiber, which are part of a funeral trousseau. Until now it is not known if they were toys that belonged to the deceased or if they were thought to be companions or even servants in the afterlife, but I decided to give these a second life. If we tune our ears, these dolls will tell us in whispers that history of Peru that we still do not know.

I was born in León in 1953, but fell in love with the Mediterranean and settled in Menorca almost 40 years ago. From here, I have been developing my artistic activity and although I studied ceramics, decoration and blacksmithing in Madrid and Barcelona I really define myself as a self-taught artist. My inexhaustible curiosity has led me to travel throughout the world, especially around Asia and Latin America, absorbing techniques and aesthetic trends that I then turn to my artistic facets as a sculptor, assemblage artist, jeweller, accessory designer, window dresser or film art director.
