About The Artwork

The U2 song "Where the streets have no name" and associated video, inspired this piece. Though I use a grid structure in other works, it seemed particularly relevant here being associated with streets. The colours and layers reflect the vibrancy and multilayering of the music.

Martin Rayman grew up in Georgetown, Guyana. He studied in UK and returned to Guyana to teach at the University of Guyana. He studied sculpture briefly at the Centro d'arte Verrocchio in Tuscany, but is mainly a self taught artist. He is interested in / has worked in areas of painting, sculpture, science, mathematics, software, design and music. He now lives near the West Coast of Ireland.
