Just like many artists for centuries, I’ve always had an instinctive need to somehow capture light in my work. I had been using various two dimensional mediums, but in the past few years glass has become my new passion. Rather than capture the effects of light, glass literally slows it down, and the refraction can be hypnotizing. It can represent illumination as well as transparency in the spiritual sense. I use abstract shapes as metaphors for life experiences and relationships. They may symbolize trauma or unfettered joy.
