The Artist Eating A Banana. Variable dimensions, HD, 2:35 min 2013 The Artist eats a banana in front of the camera. It's funny it's silly, it's meaningless, and yet, mischievous and provocative. She does this while working as a jewellery saleswoman in the Israel Museum Gift Shop in Jerusalem, exposed to the looks of passerby. Dose the fact that she is eating in the museum's gift shop make her a work of art? A souvenir from the museum? Eating a banana in front of a camera connected with pop art' Andy Warhol, The Velvet Underground' and yes - even Banana Republic. Between avant-garde and commercial' between funny and heart-rending.
