About The Artwork

I created this artwork to honor Mother Nature. While I was working on this piece, I felt compelled to experiment with new textures and physical elements of nature like flowers, vegetables, and fruits. The result was stunning because nothing can replace nature's creations in their original state. However, as time passed, those organic elements began to age, evolve, and ultimately decay. Decomposition and decay are the yins to the yangs of growth, and together they form two halves of the whole that is the closed-loop cycle of natural ecosystems. I chose to use resin to preserve some flowers while leaving others to decline. As a result of this process, the piece has turned into a symbol of truth and deceit. Do we search for a perfect, but artificial, frozen moment in time or do we accept the fact that life is ever-changing and nothing remains the same? Through this process, I discovered that there's a melancholic beauty in the process of deterioration. My hope is for this piece to be perceived as a mirror which can reflect back our fears of aging and death and encourage us to accept the beauty of our personal stories.

Born in Bassano Del Grappa, a northern Italian town. I felt constricted by its lack of opportunities and provincial thoughts. Viewing New York through the lens of an immigrant during a time of social unrest has tasked me with the responsibility to create socio-political statements through the use of mix media. My art is their voice. Being an artist gives me the freedom to experiment and explore the world of my imagination.
