About The Artwork
Becoming the Forest is inspired by my walks in a nearby forest. Each time I walk alone in the forest, I feel a deeper connection to its calming energy. Half of the woman's face is covered by flora and fauna suggesting she is part of the forest. The collage is covered in tissue paper and wax paper which creates an integration of the cut out pieces. The tissue paper absorbs paint and alcohol ink to enhance colors and outline features. This collage is on a ready to hang wood panel with thin black outline.
