This piece belongs to the "Chronicles: Summer 2019-Summer 2020". The whole body of work is made of different kinds of xuan papers transformed through traditional printmaking techniques and cutting, splitting, tearing, layering, and assembling. About xuan paper: Xuan paper is a type of handmade paper with a smooth surface known for its excellent ink-absorbing ability. It is light, white, fine, soft, and thin. It is traditionally used for calligraphy and painting. It has a reputation for lasting for thousand years as it is resistant to corrosion and mold.
