About The Artwork

The idea for the picture came to me while watching a video about the puffer fish plowing mandalas in the sand of the ocean floor. Pictures of mandalas were created by people from prehistoric times and from a wide variety of cultures. The psychiatrist C.G. Jung, who has dealt extensively with this topic, saw mandals as something that helps to bring about inner order.

The aim of my work is to observe human behavior and to visually implement the questions about it or the findings from it with the help of different techniques (photography, collage, graphics, plastic, text). The pictures should not only be a purely aesthetic expression. They should represent psychological and physical sensitivities that stimulate the viewer to question himself and the world around him. Do people act self-determined in their finite life? What interactions arise between people and under the influence of chance / fate? Particularly interesting are the imbalances in human existence, the areas that are often repressed beyond happiness, glamor and illusion: fear, aggression, insecurity. Life is not safe and man looks for ways to somehow come to terms with it. How he does this not only influences his life, but also that of his environment and is ultimately a reflection of the behavior of all of humanity.
