About The Artwork
I have been inspired by the photo showing a parading pawn which made me think of an angel. The rest of the composition came naturally as the hint to the deaths during the actual pandemic. I also remembered my visit to the Bikernieki forest monument in Riga, where my grand-mother was supposedly killed among many Jews.
