About The Artwork
Creating a collage is an incredibly exciting process, a kind of puzzle. Often randomly found objects become its main element. In such experiments it is possible to mix the incompatible. In this artwork I used old paper and other found objects and real gold leaf at the same time. Such combinations create a unique "bitter-sweet" sensation. They also help to bring humor into the process of work. Power and the desire for it is inextricably linked with mysticism, with many stories of how people colluded with some dark forces in order to seize wealth and power. The Hour of the Dark Kings collage also reminds us that life is changeable. It may also turn out that a person seeking power turns out to be a King or Caliph for only an hour.
