About The Artwork
'Nadia' is a girl's face from Dreams Series - mixed media series on paper, that were created to raise an awareness of vulnerability and fragility of children's lives all over the world. Dreams were exhibited in London, The Montage Gallery in May 2016. Getting hands dirty, feeling the texture of the paper, working with layers and discover how much they can take is the essential part of my work. For me visual artistic process is as much physical as it is intellectual. In other words the entire process in my studio is usually quite messy! I am an artist who loves to work in seclusion and if I could I would communicate only with images I create. I illustrate my feelings and impressions, working mostly with various techniques on paper ranging from small formats such as below presented book to oversized, carpet-like paper formats. I do like to work in series and use multiplications but the final creation is always unique because I do believe in intuitive hands-on creation when the materials and their properties influence the way we interpret our artistic visions. I am graduate of the Academy of Arts in Torun, Poland, I am painter, illustrator and art conservator. My studio is based in East London.
