About The Artwork
This piece is an original acrylic, pencil, graphite and collage on archival mat board. Layers of collage and paint have been applied with scrapers to create the effects and glowing nature of the overall work. My work is inspired by cells, abstract atmospheric light, and landscape. Using repetitive imagery such as cell structures, I create a microbiome within each piece, bringing attention to ideas of both microcosmic and macrocosmic elements. This piece is inspired by an experienced histamine response reaction, a direct reaction to a wasp sting, where I felt the heat, the racing in my veins and the feeling of everything spiraling out of control, while trying to hang on in the moment.
