These collages are assembled by choosing forms that I am drawn to. This includes favorite sculptures, photos, furniture, and architecture. They are piled up in an attempt to create something more amazing then they already are, but instead the form become a mosh pit of an unformed idea. Which is used to help produce and push thought relating to sculptural forms/ideas/concepts. Part of my interest lies in the mock-up, which is typically just a roughly form of an idea, a three-dimensional sketch. It’s a pause in a forward moving thought, a moment of reflection on the original idea and its possible outcome (a moment where the potential is open for new developments). It is an object that isn’t finished and is at the transition point between the beginning concept, idea, design and the actual final thing (product). This piece contains a Berne and Hilla Becher water tower photograph, a John Chamberlain foam sculpture, a Peter Voulkos ceramic, Plycraft vintage knock-off chair. This combined image becomes a portrait about form. A form that is created from accomplished forms.
