"Teach me" series, 3 out of 4 Print

This collage series is inspired by Ukrainian writer Serhii Zhadan's poem called "Teach me". It describes how a character of a men asks a character of a woman to teach him how to live like her, how to deal with life like she does it, how he's amazed by how she handles her tough life, how she "breaths on this depth" in a metaphoric way. This series of collages was created out of the pictures that my imagination draws while reading this poem, what I feel after reading every line of it, what my senses notice. Each four colleges are inspired by a particular line in the poem. The third collage says "I know how much you're afraid of your own heart". Through a lot of burned materials and matches I express the temper of a woman that the writer describes in the poem, as well as her relationship with herself and the outer world. My main association is the picture of a late autumn and the nostalgia of this season depicted in the human's emotions.
