This encaustic mixed media artwork is a sculptured painting. The encaustic medium is used to sculpt and paint this work, creating texture, adding depth and dimension. Kyanite is the stone used to create the totem on the left of the art. It is used for it's energetic properties. Kyanite is a stone that does not retain any negativity and does not need clearing. A very good stone to have in your personal space. Peace is written in the totem for a destiny of peace. Turquoise and peacock ore are used to embellish the headdress for their positive energetic properties. The work was inspired by the unknown face of destiny, but the desire for peace. The feminine features hint of peace coming through women. Peaking through the face is the shadow of Sedona's sacred mountains for their spirituality. Encaustic artwork dates back thousands of years. With proper care the work will last as long. Keep the artwork climate controlled under 150' and out of hot direct sunlight or under car glass which can elevate temperatures above 150' causing the wax to soften or even melt. If this happens allow the work to cool before touching as no to leave fingerprints or marks on the work.
