About The Artwork
The Pink Hat was a hat that belonged to a friend of mine who wore it to a wedding. I took a photo of her wearing it as it looked so fashionable and later turned it into a painting with collage added - lace and cut out flowers. I am enjoying using collage to enhance my portraiture of this original artwork, as I think in some cases it adds to the painting as a whole.

I live in Kinross in Western Australia and I am a mainly a self-taught artist. Working mostly in oils and acrylics recently I have been dabbling in collage and montage with paint and found objects. I sell my work at The Artisan Store in Fremantle, West Australia and also by contact with myself in Perth. I wrote and illustrated two childrens books in 1986 and 1989 when living in Victoria published by Greenhouse and Penguin Publishers - The Bend in the River and Mischief at Muddy Bend. I have sold my artwork worldwide over 30 years. My last exhibition was at Little Creatures in Fremantle in 2015.
