This work was inspired by the motherhood experience and the difference between how it is depicted by society to the reality we live in. At times life gets so messy, overwhelming and the need to get away from the roles we are assigned and all the obligations takes over, the image of ourselves we worked on for years evaporates and we merge with external expectations that only limit us and create a fracture within, This forces us to confront ourselves and create a new self , based on fragments and shatters of the old. this work is a mixed media work of various fabrics that i have been collecting for many years put together with acrylic brush strokes on canvas.
