About The Artwork

Hand cut and eroded paper collage (unmounted) Whilst I was in Berlin at UDK on Erasmus exchange I started to erode found paper images from magazines. It pushed them into being more mediated and effected by time than they would usually be, lending them a kind of patina. I worked on light and small pieces so I could transport them home easily. The eroded image of Princess Ann then and the dogs head became part of the raw material for a collage. I don't mean any malice toward the Royal Family or Princess Ann, they are simply part of an out dated monarchy, but the money and privilege they enjoy is part of the problem of hierarchy and ancient class difference we still suffer from on our (now even more since the referendum) isolated island.
