My Color Factory series tells the story of a photographer who walks through a gigantic old factory complex, capturing the origins of different spaces. The style of what you see originates from a fusion between the colors and composition of abstract art and surrealism. I am a great admirer of artists such as Salvador Dali, Roger van Belleghem and Carel Willink. In addition, I find studying abstract art and what it does to your imagination fascinating. This is also reflected in my works in which abstraction flows effortlessly into surrealism. From afar my work seems completely abstract and you are drawn to the colors. Up close, your imagination runs wild because of all kinds of details that seem everyday but are not. The process of creating these works starts with coming up with a good subject within the industry framework. Think of the starting points of a good photo such as composition, light, point of view, atmosphere, etc. From this I make an abstract painting with roughly the shapes and especially colors that I have in mind. I then take a photo of this to create a visualization of my abstract sketch in collaboration with AI. After many post-processing, my Color Factory series is created in which the nonchalant hand of a hand painting remains visible. And materials look very tangible. You can see the brushstrokes and craquelure overflowing into peeling paint on metal and raw concrete. All my art is signed and numbered in the work itself. This is also part of the artwork and creates the illusion that it is scratched into the material itself.
