Digital Fragments #29 Print

I was inspired to create this work by Abstract art and Automatism, particularly the work of Abstract Expressionists. I wanted to explore the possibilities of Abstract art, but with a more minimalist, contemporary approach. I hope viewers will be intrigued by the bold colour combinations and forms, and be inspired to draw their own connections between the elements. I wanted to create something that would encourage people to think differently about art and explore new interpretations of it. My series Digital Fragments is created exlusively on a tablet. I chose this medium because of the wide range possibilities it offered — I particularly like the fact that I can create dynamic, expressive images with a fluidity that I find difficult to achieve on paper. The primary focus is on creating abstract shapes and forms in an intuitive way. My method of working involves automating certain elements of the image creation process, allowing me to experiment with different colour palettes and composition layouts.
