In a world where beauty intertwines with resilience, "Divia | Melancholy Future" emerges as a captivating portrayal of future-forward strength and vulnerability. Here, we witness the complexity of human emotion through the visage of a non-binary individual whose intense, colorful hair and makeup tell a tale of defiance against a somber reality. In the eyes of Divia, there's a story untold—a narrative of survival and grit. This isn't just a face; it's a canvas where each line, curve, and hue echoes the tough streets and fashion-forward sensibilities of a time yet to come. Their brooding, melancholy stare reaches into our souls, a poignant reminder that the future may demand our beauty to be as lethal as it is breathtaking. Happiness is the ultimate rarity in this envisioned epoch, and Divia's expression is a silent testament to the scars of despair. Yet, even amid tribulation, there's an undeniable allure—a magnetic pull that reminds us of the power of hope amidst adversity. This piece isn't merely art—it's a glimpse into a tomorrow where only the fierce-hearted thrive, beauty is forged in the fires of trials, and every moment of joy is a treasure to be cherished.

As a multidisciplinary artist, I derive inspiration from my empathy for humanity and an insatiable desire to explore the world's beauty and cultural complexity. I was born in 1963 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Penn State, where I took classes ranging from abnormal psychology to existentialism in order to broaden my creative mind. My extensive travels have enriched my perspective and significantly influenced my work. With my husband, Jeff, I have designed and built Tanglewild Gardens, a renowned botanical garden that doubles as our home and sanctuary in Austin, Texas. My career has spanned various fields including fine art, design, publishing, fashion, and technology, where I have had the privilege of leading global creative teams. My artwork, which has received international recognition, has been featured in prestigious publications and exhibitions and is collected by individuals worldwide. My art is a deeply personal and evocative blend of traditional and digital methods, incorporating AI as a collaborative tool. It delves into themes such as cultural diversity, injustice, and surrealism. As a gay man who has faced discrimination and lost many friends to AIDS, my work is imbued with profound empathy and a universally powerful impact. This combination of human emotion and innovative technique makes my art uniquely resonant. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my work with a global audience and to be part of such a diverse and impressive group of artists. If you find my work inspiring, I would be honored if you chose to follow me and stay updated on my latest projects. Thank you so much for taking the time to explore my creations.
