About The Artwork
It was a small city park. I did not know how long I'd been sitting in the shade. Thoughts had surrendered to nothing more than sensations: the warm air, the occasional breeze, various bird songs, and a leaf blower in the distance. As I opened my eyes, this image seemed to flow from the warm afternoon light and quietly pool within me—fully seen. I made two sketches and took several pictures with my phone to remind me how the light played on surfaces. A smile accompanied me back to my studio.
