About The Artwork

La Guerre Est Finie The war is over? A newspaper may declare the end of a war, however, another war is beginning somewhere and possibly from the aftermath of another one. An egg denotes the beginning of something yet the appearance of it seems quite the opposite. I am inspired greatly by the Dadaist movement in the 1920s. Dadaist artists expressed their discontent with violence, war, and nationalism and maintained political affinities with racial left-wing politics. Regardless of whatever war is being addressed, the same issues arise. This is a very large Giclee print 70cm x 100cm, printed in the best quality on Innova Soft Textured White paper 315gsm. This item will be packaged in a box and wrapped to the highest standard.

Through my multi-disciplinary practice, I explore distortion and abstraction, which are often related to symbolic meaning. Detail and repetition are also prominent in my work. My artwork includes the following: drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, and digital art. The subject matters I approach vary, finding a bizarre or warped response to topics such as war and poverty. I am also forever finding inspiration in natural and man-made forms; structure and detail, fascinate me. To a large extent, our choice of medium determines the type of impact we intend to achieve. Being unrestricted to any one medium allows me a large degree of creative freedom. Some of my artwork is digital, although it is never purely computer-generated, it is often taken from other sources, such as a scanned mark made with a tool or a photograph. The choice of materials used is of importance to me as to how it impacts the artwork, and how the viewer perceives it.
