Many cinematographic works represent humanity “living” within a virtual reality, that is, connected to each other with cables and chips, controlled by a kind of artificial intelligence and encapsulated between liquids and hoses or tied to a chair while we imagine a life active, making our own decisions and associating with others like us. And since fiction always surpasses reality, this collage represents that theory of a captive planet within that great matrix that conditions and manipulates us, where everything is programmed and we are just a project or experiment of a superior intelligence. In some way, we are the consequence of the actions or events of third parties, of how and when we were born, of what is instilled in us, of the culture in which we grow up and of what society wants us to believe or be, and lately, with technological advances we are a consequence of what algorithms decide we are. After all, within a virtual reality or in an analog life we are predestined to act in a predetermined way and with an equally predictable result.
