Monika L Skakun was born in Lodz, Poland, and resides in Emmerich, Germany. Art has been a part of my life since childhood. It was something always present. Encouraged by family members, I spontaneously started to draw my little invisible worlds full of adventures, joy, and dreams. I was also a good storyteller! I mainly used pencils, crayons, pastels, and ink. Interest in drawing resulted in formal education in art school under the care of Master Małgosia Potasinska. Oil became my favorite technique. Along with other students, I exhibited in local galleries and cultural institutions and at various events. Despite the great joy of painting, I decided to develop my second passion and began studying Archaeology. I focused more on technical drawing. Instead of landscapes, I drew artifacts of past cultures. After graduation, I returned to art education by attending various courses. By mid-2015, I worked in a Gallery primarily representing Polish artists. Then I decided to go back and happily devote myself to painting and drawing. To me, each image is like a poem, telling Viewer always a different story. I hope. You enjoy my Art! Thank You for visiting my page.
