“Stairway to Heaven” is part of a larger portfolio, “See What I Hear”, of illustrations based on song lyrics. “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin was written by Robert Plant and Jimmy Page and is considered by many to be the most important rock song of all times. The lyrics take a lot of twist and turns that begin with a wealthy woman who believes she can buy her way into heaven, “There's a lady who's sure / All that glitters is gold / And she's buying a stairway to heaven”. Robert Plant who was a fan of English folklore included references to “The Load Of The Rings”, “ There's a feeling I get / When I look to the west / And my spirit is crying for leaving / In my thoughts I have seen / Rings of smoke through the trees / And the voices of those who stand looking”. The image size is 12 x 12 in. with a 2 in. boarder. The paper size is 16 x 16 in. Each print is produced in an edition of 33 on acid free archival paper and signed and numbered in the boarder below the image.
