ABOUT THE ARTWORK
There is a face over a face. Eyes tell the truth. Lips do not speak and still, they tell a story. The humility of cheekbones and the haughtiness of a long neck. Each part of the image conspires with our fascination with raw beauty, pruned beauty, and silent expression to explore the state of mind and heart of the model. The image was created as part of the graphic short story titled "The Tiny Tides of Glamour". It is a narrative about a young woman preparing herself for a social event. Her face is dolled up, but her heart is not. It is the truth about the public gathering which tells us why her anxiety is not plain stage fright but dread about something sinister.

Quleen Kaur Bijral is a faculty of English Literature at IIT Jammu with research projects focusing on indigenous folklore. She completed her Bachelor's in Science, shifted to a Master's in English, and submitted her doctoral thesis on subaltern history, orality, and memory. She used to work as a columnist and play lawn tennis in national and state-level championships. As a hobby, she renders Urdu poetry into musical compositions and creates English songs on existential and romantic themes.
