Digitally enhanced painting available as prints only from Saatchi art. I prefer to start creating my images with paint or a camera, I feel it allows me to capture the mood or my subject quicker, but recently I have found that by using the digital process I can improve my paintings and photographs in ways that I couldn’t with just paint or photography alone. Digitally I can change colour, tone, and use a vast library of exciting effects that are almost impossible to replicate with traditional methods. This allows me to develop art work subtlety or other times it can be almost revolutionary - it always pushes it to a more satisfying conclusion.

I begin my image making process with either painting or photography. Once the essence of the image is captured it is then manipulated digital to reach the final execution. Having had along career as an advertising art director and creative director in some of London’s leading advertising agencies creating images in a variety of medium for all sorts of media, for TV to magazine advertising - I love the challenges image creation demands. Although now retired and produceing work just for myself, I still love the excitement the process gives me. I like to capture the mood of my subject with either a paint brush or a camera but I prefer to refine the work using the digital process. The immediacy and versatility of adding lays and effects, improving tonal values quickly and non destructively leads to a more satisfying final execution to the vast majority of my work.
