ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I love the mountains. they are my motive. In the first phase of this drawing one saw a soft version of mountains crowned by a blonde portrait of a girl. But: Blondie had to go. Much too soft, too simple, too beautiful, too banal for me. I want nature as I often experience it, rough, uncomfortable, normal. Like the mountains, when the weather isn't great again. The drawing presents nature as it is. Strong and impressive, it could also bring strength and energy to a room, a wall, a house. Charcoal, graphite, chalk, ink, for me these are the materials that best express this power. Blondie had to go is on paper. the drawing is unframed. It can easily be sent rolled in a tube. The drawing is signed with my logo, bottom right. More information is on the back.

Guenter Rauch is a German artist. his works move between sculpture, drawings, painting and outdoor art projects and take a critical look at the relationships between humans and nature. Born in the year of hunger after the Great War (1946), he has lived near Kempten in Allgäu, Bavaria, to this day. Rauch came to professional art late. First exhibition of paintings and objects in 1997. Numerous individual and group exhibitions of paintings and drawings followed. From 2009, outdoor/land art projects with art trails and (peace) installations were added, as was the start of the project "PORTA ALPINAE Open the door to another world". A wooden gate symbolizes the transition to another world. 30 installations in the German, Austrian, Swiss and Italian mountains arouse great media interest. Several documentaries in major TV formats and international press reports. Always accompanying the painting, drawings and objects.
