Glimpses: Access and Inference Print

A filament doubled in rotational symmetry is dropped into the algorithmic field...Manifested is a suggestion of a binocular precision of focus whose perspectives infer towards the understanding of the imperceivable whole. I like to think of the inadvertently manifested form in this piece as a tribute to the compatibility of both interdisciplinary research and the coherent findings across levels of analysis in scientific research. Nomological net theory argues that differing fields may integrate like an interlocking model of reality. These ideas I see exemplified in this piece by the two united lense-like forms and infinity-like shadow in the foreground and background, respectively. The lenses refine their scope with precision and rigour. The unifying central ring collaborates and inferentially weaves the model of the hidden, coherent infinity in which we are all enmeshed. Well, that´s one way of describing the interpretation of this image. More prosaically, in the creation of this work a fine piece of wire was arranged to create a distinct shadow. This was photographed and arranged in an orientation of rotational symmetry. The continuous white line form is the wire of the original form, and the ´s´ curves in the linear field are the original shadow. Glimpses was generated using an extension of the method that emerged from my incidental beard hair shadow pieces (Rhythm, motion, turbulence, form pieces - horizontal/vertical). The use of wire permits a more easily manipulated object for planning work. As an added bonus, wire negates the association with something that fell off my face! The work features a smooth line weight transition at the upper and lower limits, and the normal attention to detail in creating smoothed joins at the intersections of lines. Feel free to interpret this piece as you may. As always so far in my work, any names are retrospectively imposed on the piece, and are merely interpretation on my behalf.
