About The Artwork

We tend to forget that Icarus was also warned not to fly too low, because seawater would ruin the lift in his wings. Flying too low is even more dangerous than flying too high because it feels deceptively safe. Each study and analysis of the myth agrees Icarus was too ambitious for his own good. Well,....Well, and I let him fly anyway, I let him overcome everything! - LIMITED EDITION #1 TO 6 - With a certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist and numbered. - All prints are numbered and signed by me in verso - All large format prints are printed with margins (added to the image dimensions) - Location: Antwerpen, Belgium - Original will be printed on a very beautiful Hahnemühle art paper. - This work will be shipped rolled in a secure tube. - Please feel free to ask about other sizes: more formats are available. - More info about the artist: www.frankverreyken.com

Frank Verreyken (b. 1954, Belgium). I live and work in Antwerp, Belgium. I’m a painter and a photographer. I don't follow a set line, and am not turned in a certain style. I am detached from all pigeonholes. I always create my work from a desire to create. That desire can be emotionally or intellectually driven. The form itself is subject to that specific, immediate desire. Whether it's photographic work, charcoal, or paint, it doesn't matter. My integrity is always there because I don't make work to please. I am always grateful that people, from all over the world, sense, appreciate, and respect that. I participated in several group and solo exhibitions all over the world : London, Washington, Santa Monica, Budapest, Los Angeles, Milan, Berlin, Brussels, Dresden (see : exhibitions) Collectors bought my work from the USA, Canada, South Africa, Germany, Austria, Holland, Belgium, and France www.frankverreyken.com
